Casper was put down after showing signs of heart failure, and respitory distress.

Casper came to us as a stud over the summer of '03 and I fell so in love with him I couldn't send him back (one plus is his past owner isn't breeding the recessive high white markings :)

Casper has been 'passed around' more than just about any rat I know.  He was placed w/ an Oregon breeder early 2002, and when that breeder decided rats did not make good pets she placed most of her rats (before she started breeding again!) with Marianne at Under Cover Rattery in the Eugene area.  Marianne bred Casper twice and then he came here and he's been here ever since!

Casper is a very sweet boy with loads of personality.  He is a dominant boy, who easily feels insecure in his surroundings and can be very testy.  He loves to wrestle and is very active.  I have not had aggression issues with Casper- but due to fear of them he's not kept in a large grouping of boys as I never felt safe introducing him to adult males.  (I took him home when he was almost a year of age and he had led a stressful life)

We have tentative plans to breed Casper in the future and LOVE his squishy type!    We have a baby out of him which was bred by UCVR (UCVR Columbia) and esp after meeting her we cannot wait for more of this squishy mans kids!

Casper was bred by Little Dickins Rattery who was in Portland, OR.  I have been unable to get a hold of his breeder, and rumor is that she moved to CA.  When I talked to her last (Over the summer of 2003) I was told Scrumpy (Caspers sire) was getting to 3 years of age- but starting to go downhill.
