EAGL Office Max
Pearl merle berkshire

DOB: 2/23/03

Breeder: Emily of EaglesEye Rattery in Oregon

The weird stone under him is an agate that was on the shelf!

Max was a huge surprise out of our first merle litter...  At day two I noticed a 'bruise' in the middle of his forehead which turned out to be one of his many merle spots!  Max may turn out to have better merling then his beautiful mother Staples which I didn't think was possible!

Max got his name because my husband has teased me since I named 'Staples' that it was after the office supply store...  (I named Staples because some of her merle spots are the color of staples and looking at each hair it reminded me as though she had staples all over her body *L*)  I couldn't bring myself to call him 'Office Depot' so am glad a friend in TX gave me the idea of 'Office Max' *L*

Max was bred to a high white (split cap-stripe) doe and there was a Mega Colon baby in the litter.  Due to this extreme care will be taken in future breeding of Max and his offspring should be used only in self and berkshire breeding. It's believed that Staples was varigated based (Hh' "variberk" marked), which is why the problem occured when the two lines were bred.

Max was bred a few times here at EaglesEye Rattery, as well as with our sister rattery Under Cover Rattery. Max lived to be over 2 1/2 years old.
