I can't say enough about my precious Ghosty girl. Ghosty was a part of the first litter I bred after my daughter was born, and her Daddy, Caspers last litter. Ghosty was born at a very hard time in my life. When she was only a few weeks old her litter was baby sat by one of my best rat friends so I was away from her until she was a few months old. Shortly before my trip to visit my Grandmother for the last time I had decided to euthanise her Daddy, who was suffering respitory issues, and showing early signs of heart failure rather than give my friend more stress to deal with (and risk not being able to say goodbye to my beloved old man).
A few days after bringing my rats home from the sitter, including baby Ghosty I walk past her cage. She's laying there head over the shelf just like her Daddy used to do, with a head almost identical to his. I said "Hello Casper" and caught myself with a gasp... "It's like I'm seeing a Ghost". That is how my Ghosty girl got her name.
Ghosty is a laid back girl, full of character. She is the rat I turn to when I need comfort. She's a kissy girl always ready to dry my tears, or do something dorky to make sure I forget why I'm upset. Sometimes I look at her, a spitting image of her sire and feel like it's him looking back at me. She is one of my favorite girls of all times, and has given me two exceptional litters "The Cutest Litter in the World", and "The Lazy Boy Litter", both with babies I'm very proud of as a breeder.
