I found Staples in a Petsmart and was SHOCKED when I found her! She was an exceptional merle, and very sweet girl. I bred her when she was 8 months for my 1st merle litter, and she became the foundation doe of my merles, producing an exceptional litter, of long lived, wonderful pets! Staples was not only the genetic foundation of my favorite rats, but a best friend. Her memory lives on through her offspring.
Staples lived to over 2.5 years of age. She passed away due to a bacterial infection I brought home. The only health issue she'd had before that was mild headtilt, which went away quickly with meds. Her offspring all lived to be over 2 years of age, with a couple living over 3! She was an exceptional pet, and really as once in a lifetime friend.
